Eastern Atlantic: off Morocco to Angola, including southern parts of the Mediterranean.

Biology:

Adults solitary in coastal water near the bottom to at least 50 m and strong swimmers. Juveniles usually pelagic and drifting, sometimes occurring in brackish water.Feeds on squid and other fishes.
