WORLDRECORD SHORTFIN MAKO SHARK

On the 22 July 1997,

Steven Courtney from England caught a New Worldrecord for the short fin Mako Shark on the Blue Marlin 1

Steven caught this - monster - on a 80 lbs line

The fish was weighing 1075 pounds / 488 kilo and the fight took 4.5 hours

The shark died behind the afterdeck.

The crew donated the fish to the hospital in Las Palmas, called Juan de Dios
