The boat Cavalier was today, July 4, one of the 151 participants of the one-day Blue Marlin World Cup 2019 tournament.
On board Stefan and Kevin Rausch.
During this world tournament there is only one prize.
And that is for the heaviest Blue Marlin caught on this day.
That one fish brings the winner immediately 750,000 to 1 million dollars.
The minimum weight is a Blue Marlin of 500 lb [225 kg]
Fishing time in all time zones is from 8.30 a.m to 16.30 p.m.
The kick-off was this morning in Cape Verde and ends today at midnight in Kona Hawaii.
The two participating anglers Stefan and Kevin caught 2 Blue Marlin on the Cavalier today with estimated weights of 350 and 400 lb.
Both fish were of course released as they were both below the required 500 lb.
The Cavalier had at least 5 bites today, 2 of which were caught Marlin.
Furthermore, many Marlin were observed, which unfortunately showed no interest at all.
All in all a wonderful and super exciting fishing day with 2 Marlin releases which unfortunately were too small for the main prize.
They will undoubtedly have grown next year.
