500 lb Bluefin Tuna Released !

After two successful weeks of trolling fishing in the second half of February were the Albacore and Bigeye tunas last week suddenly disappeared.

This week we were bottom fishing for heavy Stingrays and Atlantic Bonito's till we heard yesterday afternoon on the board radio that 10 miles offshore Bluefin Tuna was signaled.
The decision of the crew was easy this morning. TROLLING !!!

A double strike of tuna brought at 12 p.m one Big Eye and one Albacore on board.
Old friend , Frank van der Griendt from Holland, caught the heaviest of these species.
He fought and caught in 20 minutes time a beautiful 55 kilo Big Eye Tuna.
Well done Frank and congratulations again !

A few moments later the Cavalier hooked up again.
A three at once bite brought unfortunately only one tuna.
The first one was lost during the run and another was lost just behind the deck of the boat.
Too bad, but with the catch of 2 Bigeye and 1 Albacore tuna we can look backward to a satisfied day of fishing

This morning, also some very lucky anglers onboard of the boat Blue Marlin 3.
Also here were this morning three Bigeye Tuna caught .

The crew of the Blue Marlin 3 RELEASED this morning also the 1st Bluefin Tuna of 2014 !
The fish was estimated at a weight of 500 lbs.
