600 kilos Ocean Sunfish caught in Gran Canaria

The Canary angler Amelio Cruz, hooked in this week with an Ocean Sunfish with a weight of 600 kilos

Amelio was fishing with his neighbor of the rocks nearby Agaete in the North-West of Gran Canaria, when they saw the huge fish.

After many hours to have tried to lure the fish they hooked it at 16 p.m with an artifical baitfish.
The fish was then carefully dragged on the rocks of the adjacent bay.
Since the enormous Sunfish was dying it gave almost no resistance.

The Sunfish died under the watchful eye of many spectators, the Guardia Civil, the Policia Local and some environmentalists.
