80 KILOS AND LESS


With the catch of a 19,3 kilo Wahoo, had Bertil Johansson from Sweden yesterday a successful fishing trip.
At both, the morning and on the second trip, the boat CAVALIER had 3 strikes of Blue Marlin.
Unfortunately, not one of these billfishes hooked well. Bad luck!

Last week there has been caught here in Gran Canaria, diffrent Blue Marlins.
So we can conclude that the big game season 2011 is opened now.

Thursday, there has been tagged and released 2 Blue Marlins by the boat EXPLORAMAR of respectively, 110 and 140 kilos, which for the Canary concepts are actually quite small fish.

Are the normal weights of these species in the Canary Islands between 175 and 300 kilo or more!
Today there were even Blue Marlin caught of 50 and 80 kilos!

Hopefully the bigger ones are coming soon.
