Cavalier caught 123 kg Big Eye Tuna

Today we had some anglers on board which have fished several fishing trips before on board of the Cavalier in the previous years.

It seemed to be a quiet fishing day, and the boat was already on the way back to the port, when we hooked in with......................?

It was the Dutchman Eric Wagenaar who will never forget this fishing trip.
It was, at 14.40 pm, just his 80 lbs rod/reel, which had a fabulous bite.
Eric hooked in on a lure of Black Bart (Breakfatst) which was taken on this trip by angler Leo Haak.

It was a hard fight for Eric who needed about 40 minutes to get a very heavy Big Eye Tuna aboard the boat.
When the tuna was weighted in the harbour, gave the scale a weight of 123 kilograms.

I want congratulate again Eric and not to forget the crew of the Cavalier with this great catch

As mentioned earlier in this latest news is the Cavalier including tomorrow May 6 for 5 days in dry dock for annual maintenance.
We will be back on Monday the 11th
