Dutch angler Cees Pipping caught 25 kg Longbill Spearfish

After two quiet days we had today again a successful fishing day on the Cavalier.

From the beginning of the fishing trip, there were already hundreds of active birds which already a bit hinted that something was going to happen.
The presence of many dolphins did reinforce this suspicion.

At 12.25 we hooked in. It was the rod of Cees Pipping which has a short but powerful bite.
It seemed a few seconds that the fish had been released but with a second bite, we were sure it was Cees his turn now
Exactly ten minutes was enough for him to land a brilliant cobalt blue Spearfish, which could be released properly after taking the necessary photos.

Hardly lines and lures were back in the water when a second Spearfish showed up behind the lures.
Unfortunately no more action.

Tomorrow we have another day.
