Huge Blue Marlin lost after an 1 hour fight. Cavalier & Blue Marlin Sport Fishing Gran Canaria

The Cavalier was chartered this morning by angler Onno van Veen from Holland.
After the successful catches last week the courage was there again today.
The first 90 minutes of the fishing trip they were trolling for Wahoo..
At 10.30 a.m they changed the lures and goes to deeper water to have a better chance to catch White or Blue Marlin.

Only 20 minutes later they hooked in with a giant Blue Marlin.
A huge Blue Marlin had taken the lure of a 50 lbs rod followed by a long run.
It was now the turn of One, who hoped to do this job 'stand-up`?
But the Blue Marlin was a lot bigger than Onno and the crew had expected.
When she a little later appeared on the surface, was this fish estimated by the crew at a weight between 500 and 600 lbs.

Over one hour had Onno this Blue Marlin for 100% under control, when the fish suddenly start a kind of `final offensive` and disappeared again into the depth
The fight lasted still 7 to 8 minutes followed by very disappointing line breakage.
Too bad boys, very disappointing.

The Cavalier is fishing at the moment their second fishing trip.
Yesterday was this second trip just better than the first one.
Who knows ........ so maybe later more News?
